Rest In Peace, Collie
Collie was loved every minute of her brief 332 days on Earth. She was named in memory of our dear old collie, “Calliope” (who was adopted in memory of yet another collie “Smokey” from my teenage years). She is survived (in our household) by her mother Cadence, her “uncle” Brad. She also leaves behind her litter-sister Gidget, and litter-brother Touché.
She was a feisty little dog with a personality much larger than her 4-pound body could hold… when she was still in the whelping box with her two much larger littermates, she would get so mad at them that she would tremble, stamp her little feet, and make “beeping” sounds at them. So she got the nickname “Beep”.
She was taken from us in a sudden event. Mercifully we were right there and were able to intervene and be with her for the few last minutes we were given. Our last night together was a happy evening; we played with toys, we all went to bed, and first she slept cuddled up to Rhonda, then later slept cuddled up to me.
Below are the first two photos ever taken of Collie, when she was only 20 minutes old:
The last photo ever of Collie, with Brad, just a random snapshot…
Thank you, Collie, for all the fun, all the companionship, all the joy. We miss you dearly and will never forget you.
P.S. Here is a link to all Collie posts/photos (more to come).

Collie is Nine Months Old Today
Jumping on this internet meme a little late, and these pictures are of Collie at twelve days old, not nine months, but…
